Guest Characters

Greetings, True Believers, and welcome to the Marvel page! This is where I introduce some of my other favorite super heroes, Spiderman and the X-Men. I warn you, though, these aren't the X-Men characters you see on the Saturday morning cartoon on Fox. Rather, these characters are either X-Men allies, enemies, or from the Age of Apocalypse, an alternate universe where evil reigns supreme. Keep this important fact in mind: the Power Rangers and all Marvel characters exist in the same dimension of the Multiverse. Therefore, there doesn't have to be any form of Multiversal transit for these characters to appear in Power Rangers fanfics (unless if they exist in an alternate X-Universe, as is the case of the Age of Apocalypse).

The Age of Apocalypse

The Age of Apocalypse is a horrible alternate universe to Marvel's mainstream universe, in which Professor Xavier, the leader of the X-Men and a believer in a peaceful co-existence between humans and mutants, was killed before he created the X-Men. This one event led to drastic changes in hte timeline, among which are Apocalypse's rise to power. In the AOA, Apocalypse, the first mutant to exist, is the ruler of the North American continent. He and his Horsemen (see photo) believe that humans are an inferior species to mutants, and that only the strong survive.

Even though Xavier never banded together the first team of X-Men to fight for justice and equality, the X-Men still were forned, this time by Xavier's friend Erik Lensherr, a.k.a. Magneto. He and his wife Rogue (see photo) lead a different team of X-Men, which is composed of Sabretooth, Dazzler, Storm, Quicksilver, and Blink, just to name a few. The X-Men's allies include the Externals, a team of mutant thieves lead by Gambit, and the Outcasts, a band of travelling actors who also covertly help the resistance.

Nate Grey: The X-Man

Nate Grey was created by Mr. Sinister, one of the Horseman of Apocalypse, to be a human weapon. Nate managed to escape Sinister's lab and was raised by Forge, the mutant leader of the Outcasts. When the Age of Apocalypse violently comes to an end, Nate is thrown into the mainstream Marvel Universe, where he must build a life on his own, without his friends and allies. Nate is a young man with nearly infinite capabilities, including unsurpassed telepathic and telekinetic power. Although Nate has incredible potential, he is still a teenager, lacking the training and skill necessary to properly harness the vast genetic power he was gifted with.

Other Characters

The following characters either visit the Spectrum Force, or make an appearance in one of my Power Ranger fanfics, either as friend or foe.

Rachel Summers: The Phoenix

Rachel Summers is the mutant known as Phoenix. She is the daughter of the X-Men Cyclops and Jean Grey, who came from the future. She had bonded with the celestial avatar the Phoenix Force, which is life and fire incarnate. When Rachel bonded with the Phoenix, she became the second Phoenix to join the X-Men. As Phoenix, Rachel is a mighty telepath and telekinetic, with the ability to traverse space-time and fly through outer space at light speed. Later, Rachel and the Force separated, returning the avatar to the universe, and leaving Rachel with the infinite power the Phoenix possesses. Rachel remained the Phoenix until one day, where she was lost in the time stream while attempting to save a teammate from being trapped in the Multiverse. Rachel was thrown into the distant future, one in which Apocalypse reigns supreme, and the X-Men are long dead. So, Rachel forms a band of rebel mutants, and dubs them the Askani Clan, askani meaning "outcast". She is called Mother Askani in the future, since all Askani view her as a mighty and respected savior.

Onslaught

Onslaught is the first mutant to reach the next stage of evolution. He is a being of pure psionic power, who was created by the mind of Professor Xavier, the world't most powerful telepath. Onslaught possesses amazing strength, endurance, and unlimited mental powers. During his brief existence, he teamed up with Holocaust and a few others to destroy the X-Men and the other Marvel super heroes (Avengers, Fantastic Four, etc). Onslaught was finally defeated when his body was destroyed, and his psionic powers were dispersed throughout the Multiverse (at least, that is how it happened in my fanfic). Nate Grey was a vital part in Onlsaught's plan, and for a while Nate was Onslaught's prisoner, whose powers only magnified Onslaught's incredible abilities.

Holocaust

This is another picture of Holocaust, heir to the throne of the mighty Apocalypse. He travelled with Nate to the X-Universe, and he allied himself with Onslaught, arguably the most powerful villain the X-Men ever faced. Holocaust is a vicious monster, without any pity or mercy. He is a cold-blooded killer, plain and simple. He and Nate Grey are sworn enemies, probably because they both came from the same universe. Holocaust's exo-armor is virtually indestructable, and his arm cannon fires a wide range of plasma intensities. A low setting could light a candle, while a high setting could slice through adamanticum, the strongest metal in existence.

Peter Parker: Spiderman

Okay, if you don't know who Spiderman is, you've been living under a rocky for the past thirty years. He's one of the most recognized comic book characters, and one of the most beloved. Still, you may not know the basics. Peter Parker was orphaned young, so he was raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. He was always the brainy kid in school, always shunned. But one day he was witnessing an experiment, and was bitten by a radioactive spider. This gave him spider-like strength, agility, and speed... but in proportion to human size. But he didn't start out heroing immediately. It was only after his uncle was killed in an armed robbery that Peter finally learned "With great power comes great responsibility." And so, the spandex was donned. He attends Eastern State University (in New York City) for both undergraduate and graduate degrees, studying Chemistry and Biophysics. Also, he makes money working as a freelance photographer for the Daily Bugle, owned and operated by the easily-irritable communications mogul J. Jonah Jameson.

The Multiverse and its Guardian

I keep referring to the Multiverse, each time there is a crossover. But, I don't think I ever explained what it is. Or at least, how I interpret the whole concept. If you've ever seen the tv series Sliders then you'll be familliar with the theory that there are infinite alternate dimensions. Well, the Multiverse just that--infinite alternate dimensions. There are some dimensions that are all in the same time (crosstime travel), or there is travel along one dimension to a different time. Does it make sense? Well, there is this place called Otherworld, which is a pocket dimension that exists between dimensions. From Otherworld, one can travel to any of the infinite dimensions. In Otherworld lives Roma, the Guardian of the Multiverse, who is charged to rule and protect all of existence. The only beings who can travel through the Multiverse are certain magicians (i.e. Spectra, Celea), Roma herself, and those with the power to create time portals/dimensional portals (i.e. Nate Grey, Phoenix). Anyone else who travels the Multiverse cannot control where they are going, and any normal human would be killed.
