What's in a Name?

So, what's in a name? Well, anyone who has written a fanfic with original characters, it could mean quite a lot. At first, I chose names entirely based on names I liked, but after a while I realized just how important names are. So, my more recent characters have names truly appropriate to their personalities. Although, I doubt Saban's writers really took names into consideration (other than obvious ones, like Angela). So I thought it'd be interesting to see just how the names of the Rangers and some friends correspond to their characters. Some of them are quite amusing (like Tommy), and others are really dead on. Also, I think any David Yost fanatics will like this translation of Billy's names. I included Saban's characters with the established names in the table below. I didn't bother typing in the Ranger names that didn't have translations from the source I searched on, but I may add them when I find out their origins. As for T.J., I decided to use Terrance Jerome, which just strikes me as a good name for him (check out the translation if you disagree). And finally, just for fun, I put in a chart with some of my most prominent original characters, from Power Rangers as well as my Spectrum Force. Since those characters aren't as well known, I included the last names of all the characters, including the last names that don't have an origin listed. Have fun!
