Frequently Asked Questions

Updated: June 27, 2006

I've decided to make this an evolving F.A.Q. What does that mean? Well, when I change my mind about something, I change the posted policy below. So check back often, because you'll never know what I've changed!

By the way, if you have a question you'd like to see answered here, send it over.

1.) What's your update schedule?

I've removed my monthly update policy for personal reasons. Now I will update whenever I finish something. If you want to be notified of updates, join The Tablets of Destiny Newsgroup. Only I can post to this group, and I only do so if I've updated one of my sites, so if you set your profile to receive all notices in your e-mail inbox, you'll get an e-mail detailing every update I make.

2.) I love Power Rangers! Do you work for Saban/MMPR Productions/BVE/Disney?

No, I don't. I was surprised to get this question, but I have no affiliation with any of the producers, writers, or actors on the series. All of this is just for fun.

3.) When will you update Ars Amatoria or Legends:MMPR again?

I really update these pages rarely, on these occasions:

Ars Amatoria - Most of my updates will be either developing couples for the current PR series, montages, or clearer images for past couples if Toon Disney airs the right older episodes.

Legends:MMPR - I'm working on my enhanced site, with more bandwidth and larger, better quality images. It's a lot of work, so it'll take me a long time to finish this ongoing project.

4.) What fanfiction projects are you working on?

Okay, here's the current breakdown of Works in Progress:

  • My priority is finishing the fics I've left hanging for years, so I can get my work table cleared off. That means a conscious focus on "All I Ever Wanted" and "The Bridge."
  • The rest of "Streaks of Purple" is next on the list.

Incidentally, I have decided to discontinue my Zhane/Karone mini-series "New Beginnings." Two things led to this decision: I don't particularly like song-lyric fics anymore, and a lot of that particular phase of their relationship is explored in my PRLG story "All I Ever Wanted." So, all you Z/K fans, I've decided on a different approach: a broader collection of vignettes about this couple, starting with A Date With Danger. It's called Reaching Out.

5.) I've written a story. Can I send it to you?

No. My website is no longer a fanfiction archive. I don't post other authors' stories here, so there is no need to "submit" anything to me. The only stories I'm looking for are responses to my Ranger Romance Themes Challenge, and that's after they've been posted somewhere, so I can check out the story.

6.) Would you be my beta-reader?

No. In the few cases when I tried to beta, authors ended up waiting over a month before I could respond, which only delays their production. So now I will only help my close friends with their PR fanfic, and that's only if the story interests me, and I have the time. If you're one of my close friends, you already know it, so don't e-mail me and ask. If you want some quick advice for beginners, check out Mentor's Wisdom.

7.) How did you make your posters/backgrounds/banners?

Adobe Photoshop 7.0. It takes a little time to get the hang of it, but it's a powerful program. When I design a new Power Ranger costume (like the Purple Ranger), I take images of pre-existing Rangers, and play with the pictures. Photoshop is designed for photo editing, not drawing.

8.) Can you make a banner/background/image for my site?

No. Image design is very time-consuming, and as it stands I don't have enough time to keep my own site reasonably updated. Sorry.

9.) I'm opening a fanfic archive. Can I post your stories?

Only my completed stand-alones. I prefer to keep my Terra Rangers series, including my "Streaks of Purple" stories, featured on this site alone. I have tons of images available to enhance the experience of reading them, so reposting them without the images and formatting takes something away. If you'd like to include my stories in your collection, you can always link my website to refer people to my stories. I appreciate your cooperation and respect for my work.

10.) I see you're updating your Purple Ranger saga. Will you be updating the entire Terran Power Rangers series?

Unfortunately... no. When I launched "Streaks of Purple" back in 2000, it was the beginning of a major re-haul of the entire Terran Power Rangers universe, and if you've been visiting my site the past few years you've probably seen some preliminary artwork for the larger project. However, my stunningly slow progress with "Streaks of Purple" (which has taken me six years to get near the end of "The Bridge") has made it very clear that I will simply never get such a colossal project finished. So, I decided it makes more sense to focus on bringing "Streaks of Purple" to a satisfying conclusion. However, that does mean that some plot threads that were intended to lay the foundation for later chapters of the revised Terra stories will not be resolved.
